Mercedes-Benz Factory Service Maintenance at Foreign Affairs Motorwerks
A comprehensive, step-by-step vehicle inspection on all major systems is performed by Foreign Affairs Motorwerks‘ team of highly trained Mercedes-Benz service technicians. We adhere to all factory service requirements for each specific model and model year as indicated on the service sheet for Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Systems USA. Any repairs identified by the inspection process will be fully root-caused with a cost estimation provided beforehand to ensure the highest customer satisfaction.
“Service A”
This is the 10,000-mile factory maintenance service interval, known as “Service A”. For specific models from the AMG lineup, additional service items may be required. The services outlined below are part of a general guideline for all Mercedes-Benz vehicles only.
For Model Years 2009 and newer, common service items in “Service A” include:
Engine
- Synthetic Motor Oil replacement
- Oil Filter replacement
- Inspect Hinges, Hood Safety Latch, and height of Engine Hood
- Check and correct Fluid levels
- Inspect Cooling System, Antifreeze, and Corrosion Protection
Wheels & Brakes
- Check Front and Rear Brake Pads for correct thickness
- Inspect Tires for damage and wear
- Check and correct Tire Pressure
Secondary Systems / Electronics
- Check for all Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) on specific model
- Check for all Recalls on specific model
- Reset Maintenance Counter in Instrument Cluster
- Battery Voltage & Amperage check with Midtronics tester
- Warning / Indicator Lights, Interior Lighting check
- Headlights and Headlight Cleaning System inspection
- Check Front / Rear Windshield Wipers, Windshield Washers, and Washer Fluids
- Check Air Condenser, Air Filter
“Service B”
This is the 20,000-mile factory maintenance service interval, known as “Service B”. Models from the AMG lineup may require additional service items. The services outlined below are part of a general guideline for all Mercedes-Benz vehicles only.
For Model Years 2009 and newer, common service items in “Service B” include:
Engine
- Leakage inspection on major Engine components. Look for any signs of fluid drips, chafe marks, line routing
- Check Poly V-Belt condition
- Synthetic Motor Oil replacement
- Oil Filter replacement
- Inspect Hinges, Hood Safety Latch, and height of Engine Hood
- Check and Correct Fluid levels
- Inspect Cooling System, Antifreeze, and Corrosion Protection
- Check condition and function of Throttle Linkage
Wheels & Brakes
- Inspect Wheels for cracks and damages
- Check Front / Rear Brake Pads for correct thickness
- Parking Brake function test
- Check Front / Rear Brake Discs for wear pattern
- Inspect Tires for damage, wear pattern, tread depth
- Check and correct Tire Pressure
Chassis & Underside
- Check for Leakages on hoses, fluid lines and reservoirs
- Check condition of Front Axle Ball Joints, Tie-rods, Drag Link Joints, Rubber Boots
- Check condition of mechanical Steering components
- Inspect Exhaust System for damages and leaks
Secondary Systems / Electronics
- Check for all Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) on specific model
- Cabin Dust / Combination Filter replacement
- Check for all Recalls on specific model
- Air Filter replacement
- Check Air Condenser
- Reset Maintenance Counter in Instrument Cluster
- Check Seat belts condition and any damages for proper function
- Battery Voltage & Amperage check with Midtronics tester
- Warning / Indicator Lights, Interior Lighting check
- Headlights and Headlight Cleaning System inspection
- Check Front / Rear Windshield Wipers, Windshield Washers, and Washer Fluids
