Have You Heard About the APR Performance Parts Warranty?
For the first time ever, APR offers a performance parts warranty, making it even easier for you to upgrade your car and its parts. This momentous program will be a game-changer in the motoring world and allow motorists to update their vehicles while resting assured that they’re covered by a reputable and established company.
Who Offers Performance Parts Warranty?
APR Plus used to be only available on Volkswagen, specifically on the Golf line, and only offered through Volkswagen dealerships, and had to be a single owner vehicle with less than 2000 miles on the speedometer. APR attempted to offer it on other makes and models, but were unsuccessful. The horsepower and torque output were levelled between stock and stage 1. After listening and responding to customer feedback on the APR Plus program, they decided to create a new program that offers some changes; in response to customers’ requests.
Dinan used to be the only company that ensured that if their parts break, the warranty was not voided. However, after APR was acquired by Dinan, APR now offers a warranty on their performance parts too. This means that if there is a fault on the product it will be replaced.
What Performance Parts Are Covered By The Warranty?
Any APR product is able to be installed on an APR car or APR Plus vehicle excluding turbochargers and downpipes. What can be installed includes:
- Stage 1 software
- TCU software
- Any powertrain modification software
- Wheels
- Brakes
- Tires
- Suspension
In addition, the APR warranty will be offered on the following:
- 2015+ Golf, Sportwagen, Alltrack, and A3 1.8T
- 2015+ GTI, A3 Quattro, and TT 2.0T
- 2015+ Golf R, S3, and TTS 2.0T
- APR Plus TCU Software
- APR Plus Warranty or Program Transfer
How Is APR Plus Software Installed?
The process is simple and involves using your existing flashing tools and DPP login. Installing APR Plus Software is very similar to installing stage 1 with the addition of a brief vehicle health check prior to flashing. Prior to the launch of the software, operating procedures will be sent in order to provide the customer with a clear idea of what it entails. There will be a button on your DPP which you can select for mode; which will have the APR Plus option. Once it’s selected, the background will change and the APR logo will appear; which will flash the car as usual but with a few modifications.
Once the flash is complete, the customer will be emailed a copy of the APR Terms and Conditions for the APR Plus. When flashing the car with APR Plus, no other paperwork is needed, other than an inspection of the vehicle. A Vehicle Health Check pops up in DPP and the flashing technician must accept it to continue the burn. It’ll walk you through what needs to be checked, along with querying what has and hasn’t been installed on the vehicle.
Bear in mind that vehicles that have already been flashed with APR software are not eligible to re-flash with APR Plus and in order to be eligible, there can’t be any engine faults or transmission faults.
How Long Does The Limited Powertrain Warranty Through APR Plus Last?
APR Plus covers the remainder of powertrain warranty that was provided from the manufacturer; for example:
- Audi 4 year/50,000-mile warranty
- 2017 and older Volkswagen 5 year/60,000-mile warranty
- 2018 Volkswagen 6 year/72,000-mile warranty
The warranty will end when the factory powertrain warranty ends.
Who Performs Warranty Work On APR Plus Vehicles?
Any APR Plus Dealer can file a claim and complete warranty work. APR will then provide a direct reimbursed payback to the APR Plus Dealer for both the parts used and the labor required.
