Rolls-Royce Service & Car Maintenance Tips
Driving a Rolls-Royce is about driving the best. The best in luxury, in attention to detail, and superior quality control. Even with incredibly high standards, your Rolls-Royce will still require servicing and maintenance as parts wear over time. Let’s have a look at some of the frequently asked questions and the top tips and tricks that will help you to keep your Rolls-Royce in prime condition.
How Often Should I Rotate My Tires?
Regular tire rotations help to ensure better traction, a quieter ride and will give your tires the longevity they deserve. The general rule of thumb is to rotate your tires every 5,000 miles to 7,500 miles. This is true for both Forward Wheel Drive (FWD) and Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) vehicles. In the case of FWD rotation, the front tires are moved to the back, but they stay on the same side. The back tires, however, are flipped. For example, the back-left tire will be moved to the front right position. When it comes to RWD rotation, the process inverts. All Wheel Drive (AWD) vehicles wear differently as engine power is sent to all four wheels as needed. This results in a more frequent tire rotation of between 3,000 miles to 5,000 miles.
How Often Should I Change My Oil?
Regular oil changes will ensure that your Rolls-Royce runs at its peak efficiency. Your car’s oil breaks down over time and when this happens the engine is forced to work harder. It’s recommended that you change your oil around every 7,500 miles – 10,000 miles. This estimate may be lower if you use your car for any of the following:
- Off-roading
- Motorsports
- Towing
- Work-related use on-top of private use
If your mileage is fairly low, it’s recommended that you replace your oil twice a year to not compromise on the quality of the oil. It’s best to book your car into a reputable service facility that specializes in Rolls-Royce servicing.
How Often Should I Change Spark Plugs?
Spark plugs are what make your car start. When they malfunction, your car may present several symptoms
- No engine start
- Engine misfiring
- Rough Idling
- Slow acceleration
Changing your spark plugs will help to improve your fuel economy and will ensure smooth engine start-ups. They also help prevent harmful engine emissions from being released into the air. Be sure to schedule your Rolls-Royce for a spark plug change to gain from these great benefits. So how often should you get them changed? The recommended replacement period is every 5 years or 30,000 miles. Your Rolls-Royce manual will be able to give you a more accurate figure based on your specific model.
How To Remove A Car Battery?
Your Rolls-Royce battery performs some crucial functions such as starting your engine and keeping your car’s electrical systems powered up. Here are some tips to make sure that you handle your car battery responsibly.
- Make sure that your car is turned off to avoid a fire hazard
- Remove any jewelry to prevent getting shocked
- Make sure you have plenty of ventilation to avoid exposure to harmful gases
- Make sure that you cover the positive cable end with a cloth
- Use a battery removal tool if the terminal is fused

How To Check Your Tread Depth?
To do this, you’ll need a ruler or a penny. When your tires are new, they will have around 11/32 of an inch of tread depth. This equates to a third of an inch. The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) requires that tires with a tread depth of 2/32 f an inch or less should be replaced. If you don’t have a ruler around to measure you can also use a penny. All you need to do is to slot the penny into the tire groove with Lincoln’s head facing down. If Lincoln’s face fully or partially disappears then your tire depth is still within the acceptable limits. However, if Lincoln’s face is completely visible, then it’s time to get that tire replaced.
